Privacy Policy

Hidden Value ("the Extension") is operated by Digital Origin Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the Extension handles your data.
The short version: You choose which sites to track. All tracking data stays on your device. We don't see what you browse, we don't sell your data, and we don't build advertising profiles.
You're in control
The Extension does nothing until you tell it which sites to monitor. It only measures how long you spend on those specific sites — it doesn't see, read, or record the content of any page, and it has no visibility into the rest of your browsing.
All of this data — your tracked sites, time spent, goals, streaks, and settings — is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage. It never leaves your device unless you create an account.
Your name
During onboarding, we ask for your first name. It's stored locally on your device, attached to your analytics profile (Mixpanel), and — if you create an account — in our account database (Supabase). We use it to personalize the product experience and for support communications. We never sell or share it with advertisers.
Analytics and identifiers
At install, the Extension generates a random, anonymous device ID. We use it to associate product-usage events (feature usage, product interactions, subscription status, and aggregate timing) with a single device, so we can understand how people use the Extension and improve it. If you sign in, this ID is linked to your account. We deliberately strip which specific websites you visit and any page content before an event ever leaves your device — that never reaches us.
Analytics events from the Extension go to Mixpanel. Our marketing website (this page and the rest of gethiddenvalue.com) also uses Google Analytics, PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, and the Meta pixel to understand site traffic — these operate on the website only, not inside the Extension.
Accounts and sign-in (optional)
If you choose to sign in with Google to access Pro features, we receive your name and email address through Google's OAuth. This is stored in our database (Supabase, hosted on AWS) alongside your subscription status. We use this only to manage your account and subscription, and to send transactional email (e.g., receipts, subscription confirmations) via Resend.
Payments
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, handle, or store your credit card number, bank details, or other payment credentials. We only receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded or failed.
Uninstall feedback
When you uninstall the Extension, Chrome opens a survey page on our website. That page logs your anonymous device ID, install date, extension version, and any reason or feedback you voluntarily submit. This lets us understand why people leave — it isn't tied to your name or email unless you were signed in.
What we don't do
- We don't track your browsing on sites you haven't explicitly added.
- We don't read or store the content of any web page.
- We don't transmit which specific websites you visit — that's stripped before any event leaves your device.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't use your data to build advertising profiles.
- We don't serve ads anywhere in the Extension.
Where data lives
Tracking data, settings, and goals: locally in your browser via Chrome's storage API. Account, subscription, and name data (if signed in): Supabase (AWS). Analytics events and your name (analytics profile): Mixpanel, plus Google Analytics, PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, and the Meta pixel on our website. Uninstall survey responses: our website's backend. Payments: Stripe. Transactional email: Resend.
Data retention and deletion
Local data stays in your browser until you uninstall the Extension or clear Chrome's storage — we have no access to it. If you create an account, your profile data (including your name) is kept while your account exists. To request deletion of your account data, email gethiddenvalue@gmail.com.
Children's privacy
The Extension is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and note the changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
